File I/O error message

Hi

I keep getting a file i/o error message in my output window even though I have no indicator or strategy attached that uses File I/O.

I believe it is a legacy from when I did do some simple file I/O work but cannot now seem to stop it appearing even when I create new Indicators.

Is there anything I can do to stop this error message, see below;
"Indicator 'Sample file read write': Error on calling 'OnStateChange' method: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Indicator 'Sample file read write': Error on calling 'OnStateChange' method: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

from appearing in my output window?

Thank you for your post.

Do you have an indicator named Sample File Read Write in your installation?
If so, you can remove it by going to New > NinjaScript Editor > Indicators > select the indicator > right click and select Remove.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

indicator File I/O error message

Hi,

I did have a file called "Sample File Read Write" that was used as an example for using File i/o, but it has since been deleted.

I will go through any files with File I/O and remove them to see if it clears the problem and then reload one at a time to see which may be causing the issue.

But if you can think of anything else please let me know.

I will also let you know the outcome.

You should not see messages on indicators that are no longer in your installation. Please let me know if the errors continue.

File IO error message

The error message appears as soon as the indicator selection box opens, see attached image.

Do you by chance have a copy of the Sample that was named differently? If so, please remove that file.

If not or if the error continues please write to me at platformsupport[at]ninjatrader[dot]com with 'ATTN: Patrick H' in the subject line and a reference to this thread in the body of the email so that we may schedule a remote session to look into this on your PC.
