Gann Fan Question...??

Thanks Dan...I believe the diagonal of a rectangle could be the initial 1x1 line from which to plot the fan lines in scale for that particular rectangle. This would be very easy to use graphically. You would need both the 33.33% line and the 3x1 type lines per fan...

I am actually not all that interested in Gann fans right now ....will check out your IT.Speedlines tho...

Below are the calculated angles for the Top-Right Gann Fan (in degrees) for a properly scaled chart (where 1 rise = 1 run) which you can find all over the internet and which we can also use to clarify the relationship between the angles.

1 x 8 - 82.5 degrees
1 x 4 - 75 degrees
1 x 3 - 71.25 degrees
1 x 2 - 63.75 degrees
1 x 1 - 45 degrees
2 x 1 - 26.25 degrees
3 x 1 - 18.75 degrees
4 x 1 - 15 degrees
8 x 1 - 7.5 degrees

You can see the difference between the 2x1 to 3x1 angles is 7.5 degrees and the 3x1 to 4x1 angles is 3.75 degrees.

Therefore, we would not expect the 3x1 line to be equidistant between the 2x1 and 4x1 lines.

This is the same concept used in Gann Fan implementations in many other platforms.

Actually, downward fan angles from horizontal top are:

1x8 = -7.13 degrees
1x4 = -14.04
1x3 = -18.43
1x2 = -26.57
1x1 = -45.00
2x1 = -63.43
3x1 = -71.57
4x1 = -75.96
8x1 = -82.87
