Kind of a stupid question. Sorry, but I am unclear how this works.

Is the data provider also the brokerage?

Can you have a data provider that is not the brokerage?

Thanks for writing in to our Support team.

Often times your broker will be your data provider, such is the case with Interactive Brokers and TDAmeritrade. But there are data providers that are data only providers and not connected with a brokerage account, such as Kinetick and IQFeed.

One other question....

Is it possible to trade futures using Ninja Trader 8 with TD Ameritrade?

The reason I am asking is that I found a old thread on this site that said it is not. The thread is about 4 year sold, so I'm wondering if that is still true.

Thanks for your reply.

You will only be able to get equities and index data from the TDAmeritrade connection in NinjaTrader 8.
