Forex Tick Charts - Last Price

Thanks for your patience.

After researching with the Development Team, it turns out that this is expected. Although Last and Bid data are the same, with Last data every event is displayed. With Bid data we only record changes. We are taking into consideration and tracking desire at this time to have these items match.

The Development tracking number for this is QA-2391.

The feature request to change this behavior is SFT-1826. I have added a vote for you to this feature request.

Thanks for getting back to me Patrick.... The screenshots of bid charts I posted earlier on this thread have more bars than the last charts though... I don't understand how there's less data in them?

Which series do you recommend I use for Forex?

Yes, thats the exact behavior that is expected.

• Bid bars update with all incoming information even if there is no change in price.
• Last bars only update when the price changes.
• For example, a tick comes in which is the same price as the previous tick. This tick is not plotted on a 'last' bar. This tick is plotted on a 'bid' bar.
• This means that it is expected that there would be more bid bars than last bars because more information is included in bid bars for the same period of time

I do not have a recommendation, but you should choose to either plot last price or bid price based on the understanding of the information above.

Gotcha - thanks for the clarification; Ticks that don't move price aren't really Ticks in my view so I shall flip back to Last Price.
