Volume Indicator

Where is the simple volume indicator in NT8 that just shows the simple volume on each bar? I was looking under indicators and found a few but not sure which one is plain volume.

Either VOL (plain vanilla) or VolumeUpDown (separate up and down volume plots).

tradesmart would be correct here. The VOL indicator would be the simple volume indicator. This can be accessed by right-clicking within the chart and selecting "Indicators." More information at the below link:

Futures Volume

Hi folks,



VOL indicator shows volume data from the specific exchange or simply a tick-change volume? I'm interested in futures. For instance, US Dollar Index future (DX from ICE).

Thanks for posting.

Could you please clarify your post further? The VOL indicator will display the volume for the underlying series that the indicator is applied to. The indicator would not be able to determine whether or not the data was received directly from the exchange.

I meant is it a trade volume or tick Up-DOWN counter volume?

VOL would represent the traditional volume indicator, however, there is a Volume up down indicator available in by default in NinjaTrader 8 that would show Up/Down Volume.
