Moving tick data from NT7 to NT8?

Im assuming all the historical tick data I have in NT7 can be used by NT8, is this correct? If so, what is the easiest method to copy data from NT7 to NT8?

Hello Rob,

Thank you for posting in our forum.

When you install NinjaTrader 8 you will have the option to import relevant files to NinjaTrader 8 from NinjaTrader 7. There will be no overlaps because they are saved in different folders. Please see the following migration guide, which shows everything that migrates over when you transition to NinjaTrader 8. Historical market data can be migrated from NinjaTrader 7 to NinjaTrader 8.

I've already installed NT8. If I have already installed NT8, how can I get the tick data from NT7 over to NT8? Can I copy folders from NT7 and if so which ones? Or is there another method within NT8 like an import option?

Hello Rob,

Thank you for your reply. In order to prompt the migration from NinjaTrader 7 again, you will have to start with a clean installation of NinjaTrader 8.

First, close down both NinjaTrader 7 and 8. Next, find your "NinjaTrader 8" folder under C:\Users\Your User Acct\Documents\ and rename it to "NinjaTrader 8 Old".

Next, from the Windows Control Panel, repair your installation of NinjaTrader 8. Control Panel>Uninstall a Program, Right click NinjaTrader 8 and select Repair.

Now, when you launch NinjaTrader 8, it will prompt you to import relevant files from NinjaTrader 7. If I may assist further, please let me know.
