How do I load the latest gold futures chart?

When I select GC from my list of instruments and then try and open the chart in my work space it comes up as GC 12-16 and no data.
How do I load current futures contracts? Most of them are still saying 12-16.

Please follow these steps to roll over the expiration date of a Futures contract:

• Navigate to the Control Center > Tools > Database window.
• Left-click the ‘Rollover’ button that appears just below the table under the ‘Rollover futures instruments’ section.
• Close this window when this process completes.

Is this real data that I am looking at or fake data (on the demo)? The current price of gold on your platform is saying 1.242 but the actual current futures price is 1.213.

A NinjaTrader Continuum futures demo connection provides real-time data for the GC.

Who are you connected to? This is displayed in the Control Center > Connections menu with a green circle to the left of the connection name.

What instrument (and expiry if applicable) have you selected? For example, GC 02-17

My connection is 'my ninjatrader continuum'
The instrument is GC 03-17
Im trying to load it this morning with tick data but no chart candles are coming up. I have to select the day setting before I see candles.

GC 03-17 is an invalid contract. The current front month is GC 02-17. This rolls over to GC 04-17 within NinjaTrader on January 31st.

Please choose valid active contract month for GC to view GC data.
