Renko is a built-in chart type. To create a renko chart:

• New > Chart
• Select an instrument
• Change the 'Type' drop down to 'Renko'
• OK

Is it possible to adjust the Renko bar ratio from 1:2 to 1:3 etc?

While you can adjust the Brick Size and Bar Width within the Data Series menu, there is no native option of adjusting the ratio like this in the platform. I have submitted your inquiry to our development team as a feature request.

Hello Mindset,

The Renko bars are a part of NinjaTrader 8's default chart types, if you do not see Renko as one of the options, please ensure you're using the most recent NinjaTrader 8 version (8.0.24.2, at the time of this post). You may find this under Help > About.

If you are using this version, Renko should appear in the Type dropdown menu:




To update NinjaTrader, please follow the steps below:

• First, copy your license key from NinjaTrader under Help> License Key then exit NinjaTrader
• Click on the link: https://ninjatrader.com/PlatformDirect
• Enter your license key and press Submit
• Select 'Download'
• Critical: Before running the installer, ensure NinjaTrader is closed.

Should this not work and you still don't see the Renko as a type, please don't hesitate to let us know!
