Problem with Alerts

Hello,
I am trying to setup Alert, which has to be triggered when the price touches existing user defined line on the chart (in my case its a ray).

From Conditions i choose the data series, price type Bid, equals, RayXX. In the log it says Alarm enabled but it never works. If i use "cross below" and the price goes under the ray it works, but this is not what i need.

Can you help me with this setup?

Unfortunately you cannot use "equals" for such drawing tools. The Ray does not plot in the same increments (tick size) as the instrument. I suggest to apply two alerts - "cross below" and "cross above".

Can you be more specific what should be the Alert setup to trigger a alert when the price (bid or ask) hits a trendline (ray or line, whatever is possible)? Say it does not go below that line, just hit and bounce?

Unfortunately I do not see a way to setup such an alert other than using "cross below"/"cross above". The price where the market meets the Ray/Line does not use the same tick size as the instrument. Therefore the market does not equal the Ray/Line price.

Hi,
Is it the same with the Trend channel? I am trying to setup alert which will be triggered once the price moves outside (up or down) of the trend channel. What should be the correct setup?

Yes, please use cross below/above as well. The lines can plot at different prices than the tick size that is used, so "equal" does not work then.
