Running nt7 and nt8 simultaneously?

Yes. We run the two versions at the same time in house - they are totally separate processes and do not share resources.

for IB users, as NT8 and NT7 requires different version of TWS, it would be better to update NT7 TWS support into same NT8 TWS version. is that a big deal for your development team? NT7's TWS version is far behind current TWS version.

IB has two programs now, TWS and 'Gateway'. The 'gateway' program is what I would recommend you use for NinjaTrader 8 and can be installed separately. So you can leave TWS as needed for NT7 and use IB 'Gateway' for NinjaTrader 8.

this could ONLY be a temperory solution as gateway doesn't have ability to cancel API orders like TWS, sometime when NT crashed or freezed, i use TWS to cancel the NT orders. it would be much better your development team to update NT7 dll to support same version of TWS that is compatible with NT8.

Understand, did also want to let you know we do have on our list to look into updating IB NT7 supported IB version once we get through NT8 launch.
