You will need to ensure your settings match across platforms.

What is your merge policy in each platform?

In NinjaTrader 7 you can check this by going to Tools > Options > Data tab

In NinjaTrader 8 you can check this by going to Tools > Options > Market Data

I'd like to eliminate the custom bar type from the equation.

Can you load a time-based chart with a built in bar type? For example, 5 minute. Draw the pitchfork on both charts in both versions.

Do they match?

I tried this on range bars and minute bars and they match

The custom bar type seems to be the variable which changes how the pitchfork performs here.

One thing I noticed is that your pitchfork is measuring bars over a session break.

As a test, change your charts back to the custom bar type. In NinjaTrader 8, disable 'Break at EOD' in the data series and see if the charts now match.

If this does not cause the charts to match I would suggest reaching out to the developer of the custom bar type for more information.
