Workspaces migration to NT8

can I move my workspaces to NT8 without rebuilding them from scratch?

Unfortunately not, workspaces cannot be migrated from NinjaTrader 7 to NinjaTrader 8. Please see the migration guide at the link below.

*Workspaces are not migrated because of significant changes to the way windows are formatted and arranged in NinjaTrader 8. You will need to rebuild your workspaces or obtain NinjaTrader 8 compatible versions of any workspaces provided by 3rd party vendors.

Migration from NT7 To NT8

Till date NT8 is a disaster compare to NT7 Unless the following are not add it is very difficult to compromise with NT8

NinjaScript Indicators and Strategies
Workspaces*
Strategy Wizard Templates
Chart Templates
Default Templates for Bar Types, Drawing Objects, Indicators, and Strategies
Session Templates
Saved Strategy Backtest/Optimization Results

And also indicators like MACD deluxe, Supertrend Etc are not compatible with older zip files
for ninjascript

Unfortunately these items are not transferred as the migration guide informs.

Sorry I am not sure what you mean by "are not compatible with older zip files for ninjascript". Can you please clarify? When I import these files in NinjaTrader 7 on my end, they import successful.

When i try to import ninja script it say's ( This NinjaScript archive was made from an older, incompatible version of Ninja Trader) The same i could do it on NT7

Sir i am not trying to import the Ninja scripted file, Which i am aware of it, I am trying the Zip file from NT8 to add the indicator to NT8, the same i could do at NT7

You can import NinjaScript files in NinjaTrader 8 at Control Center-->Tools-->Import-->NinjaScript Add-On. This will open up a new window. Please navigate to the location of the NinjaTrader 8 .zip file. Highlight it and click Open.

The MACDdeLuxe2.zip file was created in NinjaTrader 7 and not NinjaTrader 8. Therefore you cannot import it in NinjaTrader 8.

Please try to understand this zip file was downloaded from net, which i don't remember were, its not created by NT7, Here error is showing as incompatible version, So my request is to make such indicator zip files as compatible for NT8 as like NT7, If incase you are aware of 3rd party indicators like MACD deluxe,Supertrend,Acme volume impression, Ncat, trend dot, ETC, kindly provide me the link for so called latest VERSION so that it is compatible to NT8.

Sir know coz i have personally downloaded zip file from net separately and added to NT7 Via Ninjascript and after importing ninja script that file is MACDdeLuxe2.cs and saved at My Documents/NinjaTrader 7/bin/Custom/Indicator BUT NOT a zip file, And my zip file still remains same at my location with out any changes, As a trail for your word i have downloaded fresh indicator zip file from net, (which is not my purpose) i got the same error, new indicator Zip file attached for your reference.

Can you please provide me the link where you download these files. This .zip file imports successful in NinjaTrader 7. In NinjaTrader 8 it generates the error that the file is not compatible as it was created with an older version.
