OneDrive and NT8 failure to relocate default folder.

We need a plan on how a user can designate a folder outside of their My Documents folder so as to avoid the OneDrive backup issue. Telling users to disable their backups to One Drive is not a solution and there is no guidance from Microsoft otherwise. Please provide a timeline when this will be fixed within NT.

Thank you for posting on the NinjaTrader forums.


NinjaTrader lives in the \Documents folder, while this cannot be changed the main reason why disabling OneDrive is to prevent files being duplicated within the same directory. Other symptoms include being unable to fully close NinjaTrader background processes while OneDrive is syncing files or making changes to its files.

I do think it's important to note that disabling OneDrive isn't flat out disabling the access to OneDrive, it's simply turning off the automatic syncing of the Documents folder. You are still able to manually drag and drop any new files or replace existing versions of your files within OneDrive as needed.



Unfortunately I do not have a timeline to share as to when this will be changed.
