Unable to input a configured SMA as input for Momentum

I have a chart (5 min MNQ) 180 days loaded in data series with a SMA 14 displayed.
I want to now run a Momentum on that SMA
I used to be able to click the input parameter for the Momentum and chose the existing SMA as input (as I remember)- but now I can't - only the data series elements - open, hi, low, close, etc.
I am able to chose a new indicator from the drop down menu in the Momentum Input Series - but not the existing SMA.
I made sure the SMA is above (top) in the configured box - and the Momentum below it.
I even cleared the cache - any ideas?

    Hello XXfea,

    Thank you for the message.

This would be done by changing the Input Series for the Momentum Indicator as shown below:

      Thanks but...
This only allows an integer that is the default from the default EMA study - in this case 14 -
I want to use the EMA value that I'm running on my chart that is not default but is the value of my EMA - which is not 14.

example . I want to optimize my Momentum on various EMA values.
Optimize Momentum on SMA, with SMA values ranging between10 - 30.

        Hello XXfea,

        Thank you for the update.

Unfortunately, there is no way to have the second (Momentum) Indicator be based on an indicator that is on the chart.
        • If you want the Indicator to be based off of another indicator, then you would have to configure it as shown above.
        • You can go in and change the 14 to any other value you want.
          • But, there is no way to have it tied to the indicator that is already on the chart.
Please feel free to submit this as a feature request to be considered for a future version.
Otherwise, you could look into creating a custom NinjaScript Strategy to achieve what you are looking for.

This forum thread will remain open for other users to share their suggestions.
