Unable to install Ninja trader graphical interface

    Hello,

Everytime I download the installer and install Ninja trader I keep getting the DOM that looks like a limited or an older version. I don't see the black UI for trading with charts, where you can create ATM and other strategies, buy directly on the charts, add indicators etc with all of the additional features. What I get is an accounts window, charts window and super dom window on the right.

    Hello JohnZee,

    Thank you for the message.

You are describing the Desktop Platform. If you want it to be black, simply change the Skin or "Color Theme" of the platform using the guide below:
Otherwise, you might be referring to the NinjaTrader Web Platform.

Here are some training videos and resources to help a new user get started with NinjaTrader and the various platforms:
    • Please visit our Help Center to explore our extensive library of Help Articles. We also have video guides, help guides, and a link to our Support Forum.
    • Additionally, here is a link to the "Getting Started" section of our Help Center which will contain Help Articles with step-by-step instructions on every you will need to get started using your NinjaTrader Account.

Please let us know if we may be of any further assistance.

Thanks for your response. So I have confirmed the installer file is the same and the version is the same (8.1.4.2 64-bit). However when I run the installer on my desktop I get the GUI installed fine, snapshot attached and on my laptop I get the superDom screen, it's snapshot is attached too. I am using the same license key. I am trying to setup Ninja Trader on my laptop also, so I can trade when I travel. I prefer the GUI interface since I can trade via charts, move take profit and stoploss targets on the chart, use strategies etc while the superDOM version is a bit restrictive.

My question is how do I get the same GUI version of Ninjatrader installed on my laptop too?

All NinjaTrader windows are independent, and all of them can be
opened and closed individually(*), as desired. [Don't want to see
that DOM window? Ok, so close it. You can always open another
one by using New > SuperDOM in the Control Center.]

When you say 'GUI version of NinjaTrader', I think what you mean
        is a workspace.

NinjaTrader uses the term 'workspace' to describe all the windows
currently opened. The current set of open windows and their sizes
and positions can be remembered by saving them to a workspace.
Each workspace is saved to a single XML file. You can create as
many as you want. All saved workspace XML files are stored in
        the 'workspaces' folder.

Sounds like you want to copy the workspaces from one machine
to another. Easy peasy, do a workspace-only backup and restore
from your desktop to your laptop.

NinjaTrader backup/restore capabilities can be found here.

(*) Well, all windows except for the 'Control Center' window.
That window (the one w/menu bar New, Tools, Workspaces,
Connections, Help, etc) is the main application window. You
can resize and move it all you want, but it is a 'global' window
and is automatically present in every workspace. If you
close Control Center you are closing NinjaTrader itself.
