How to remove the Apex Trade Copier to avoid "safe mode"

I use APEX Rithmic for trading with NT8. About 6 months ago when starting NT8 I got hung at the ==> "copying custom assemblies" point of NT8 startup. The hang up occurred immediately after seeing a small window indicating the" Apex Trade Copier was starting" which strongly suggests the problem is with the Trade Copier as I'd never seen that message before. Prior to this never had a problem starting NT8 and only infrequently used the Apex Trade Copier.

At this point I just desperately want my indicators and strategies back and would appreciate any assistance in that regard. I can live without APEX Trade Copier.

The Apex Trade Copier Vendor was not helpful despite my telling them several times I do not want to stop using the APEX Rithmic accounts. I want to instead remove only the Apex Trade Copier.

I reported the issue on this forum and appreciate NT8 support/assistance explaining how to come up in safe mode. That does work but I need my other indicators and strategies, they had not changed in years so the issue has to be related to the Apex Trade Copier.

Please let me know what steps to follow which will allow me to firstly remove the Apex Trade Copier only and bring NT8 up with the old indicators and strategies.

I would really appreciate the help and would be happy to supply whatever information is needed and/or someone accessing my computer remotely?

As always, thank you NT support you guys are hands down the best support team I've seen for any product ever.

    Glen

I had a similar issue where Apex was causing NinjaTrader to take forever to load if it ever did, so I uninstalled it.
You should have a shortcut or app to open the Apex Desktop Assistant. In there you will see the option to uninstall.

As to bring up the old indicators and strategies. If you didn't save them... you can't.
This is why it's very important that when you have your indicator or strategy set up how you like down on the very bottom right you should see save. Save it, you can rename or save as default.
You can do the same with the chart... once you have the chart set how you like with all the indicators and strategies, colors, candles etc.. save it. Then when you load a new chart you can load your saved template.

    Hope this helps...

      Hello demarcog,

Thank you for posting on the NinjaTrader forums.

If you haven't been successful removing the add on using the Apex Desktop Assistant as tradershawn1 suggested you can also manually remove them from the following folder:
      • \Documents\NinjaTrader 8\bin\Custom

You can then look for every file that refers back to the Apex tool that you have installed and delete it.

While you're here, you can also take an opportunity to see if the add-ons and strategies that you were using are also contained within this folder. I suspect that you believe they are gone because you don't see them in Safe Mode. This is expected due to the notion that Safe Mode is a way to troubleshoot, not permanently move to.

      Thank you.
