Help with Orders Disappearing

I use chart trader and place limit orders on the screen.

I can see the order as the price moves into my order. Sometimes, the price will skip my order. When that happens, the order disappears from my screen. However, the order still exists. The price may reverse and many times my "invisible order" then gets filled. How do I stop the order from disappearing? This did not happen in older versions on Ninja Trader. I am currently running 8.1.4.1

Thank you for the message.

This would imply that you are using a Stop Limit Order that has been triggered to fill, but hasn't.

Unfortunately, the "NinjaTrader" connection adapter is unable to display a Triggered Stop Limit order on the charts visually.

• So, an order where the market moved through the Stop Limit price, but then went beyond the final Limit price as well and the order is actively waiting for the market to come back up to the Limit price or better so that it can fill.

The development team is aware of this behavior and has it slated for a much later update to the NinjaTrader platform.


For now, if the order disappears, you could go to the Control Center > Orders tab to manage it further.

Well thanks for the fast response and work around. Not in the habit of having the orders tab open in control panel but will have to add it. Seems like a massive over sight by the devs to have that behavior creep into new versions when it didn't exist in the older one. I do appreciate the work around though. I can do a global cancel but the issue I had was if I have other working orders or trades going it nukes my ATM on the existing orders and cancels the other waiting orders. I did a test and see the order in the order's tab and I can rclick to cancel so thank you.

I have a separate question. Hopefully you can help.

I've written a script that will draw the instrument symbol on the screen. Similar to Trading View, Quantower etc. The issue I run into is it appears over other elements in the chart. Like candles for example. I can set the opacity to a low setting but I still would like my script to place the symbol behind everything else on the chart.

Is a there function I can reference with my script to tell Ninja Trader to place the symbol behind everything else - candles, MA's etc?

Here is a basic guideline on how to import NinjaScript add-ons in NinjaTrader:

1. Download the NinjaScripts to your desktop, and keep them in the compressed .zip file.
2. From the Control Center window, click Tools > Import > NinjaScript Add-on...
3. Select the downloaded .zip file
4. NinjaTrader will then confirm if the import has been successful.

Critical - Specifically for some NinjaScripts, it will prompt that you are running newer versions of @SMA, @EMA, etc., and ask if you want to replace them, Always select 'No'.
