Error query I do not understand

HI

Yesterday I had an error that I can't understand. I had a long order of 2 lots on the MES which was 1.75 points in profit. With 2 profit target orders and 2 stop loss orders. This is not via a strategy.

I tried to change a stop loss order with a sell order stop price of 5480.5, approximately 5.75 points below the current close price and I received this error message.

I simply don't understand why this 'error' occurred. Perhaps NinjaTrader could decipher for me.

Thank you for posting on the NinjaTrader forums.


This error occurs when you try to submit an order at a price where it's no longer valid. Your sell Stop order has to be below the last traded price, and although it might have been valid at the moment you initially clicked to drag it, the order would no longer be valid if the price moved above where you wanted to drop the order.

Yes i get that but if you look one of my stops is at 5485.75 and not hit so an order at 5480.5 is well below the last trade price - that's why i posted it because to me that makes no sense.

I use buttons and key codes to change orders so I am asking so that I can prevent this error from coming up - if anyone knows any snippets that help prevent this I would be very grateful.
