Routing futures to IB TWS (product list)

Hi,

I am sending orders to IB 'sTWS via my NinjaTrader. I am seeing 2 types of error messages when I submit the order:


1) Order rejected with: "Rejected: No security definition has been found for the request"
I see this error with 3 contracts:

• MNG 05-25 (Micro Nat Gas)
  • I actually fixed this one myself with: Tools > Instruments > interactive brokers: MHNG|NYMEX (from MNG|NYMEX)
  • This proves there was just a mapping issue between NT8 and IB which didn't update with Database Management
  • Can you update this on your side so any "Database Management > Update instruments" does not override this datapoint ?

• MTN 06-25 (Micro US 10 year)
  • I also fixed this one myself by changing Tools > Instruments > interactive brokers: MTN|CBOT (from MTN|CME)
  • Can you update this on your side so any "Database Management > Update instruments" does not override this datapoint ?

• MISF 06-25 (Micro CHF/USD)
  • I can't figure this one out, or whether there is another root cause cause, can you help me ?
  • This is what I currently see in Tools > Instruments > interactive brokers: MSF|CME

2) Micro Silver Futures (SIL) Contract on the CME (***please help with this one***)

• Here is the contract, it's the 1000 oz (SIL) instead of the 5000 oz contract (SI)

• I see a full SuperDom for SIL 05-25 (no issues here)
• When I route the order from my NT8...the order never reaches IB (interactive brokers)
  • The order stays in "Initialized" state - (screenshot below)
  • If I cancel the order, it stays in a "Cancel pending" state - (screenshot below)
  • If I restart my NT, it will show in an "Unknown" state - (screenshot below)
• Log files shows this: 2025-04-16 07:08:52:906|3|4|The requested instrument SIL is disabled. Please contact [email protected] for further instructions.
• In IB's TWS when I enter the futures contract, I choose Silver and then choose a contract size i want = 1000 or 5000
• How to enter an order for this product from NT8 ?

In this case, what version of TWS are you using to submit your orders? Have you had a moment to submit a request to our technical support team at clientservices@ninjatrader[dot]com?

Typically we'd want to take a look at your log and trace files for additional insight into the error messages.

I am using TWS version Build 10.33.1b,
To be honest, I have already submitted a request to clientservices (and sent in the logs), but have not received any technically meaningful replies, which is why I am trying my luck in the forum.
Shall I create a new ticket ?

I accidently hit "Database Management > Update instruments" (instead of Rollover) and all my mappings where overwritten as stated above in 1st post

Can these be corrected properly in the database to prevent clients from overwritting their corrections and bad NT8<>ib mappings ?

Considering that NinjaTrader works as a plug and play platform for NinjaTrader Brokerage users we cannot tailor the symbol mappings that would be used for another service provider. While unfortunate, you will need to reconfigure your symbol mappings as needed after pressing the 'update instruments' button.
