How do you enable Multi-Provider Mode?
I run 8.1.4.2. Only Live Playback and Sim are available. How do I get the old Connection Configure screen to show up? Otherwise, how do we add outside connections. Most posts refer to multiple accounts and multiple connections. I want access to the Rithmic connection. Thanks -
Hello Lee63,
Thank you for the question.
We moved your forum post since it has nothing to do with the Rithmic-based connections. In the future, if there isn't a forum thread directly pertaining to your question, then please post it in a new thread.
If you want to be able to set up multiple connections, simply switch NinjaTrader into Multi-Provider Mode by following the guide below:
Once Multi-provider Mode is enabled, you can set up the connections to your various accounts as desired using the connection guides linked below:
Please let us know if we may provide any further assistance.

Simple.
You do this inside the desktop software itself.
Goto Control Center > Tools > Options
Inside the General Category, look carefully
under Preferences section.
Almost halfway down, you will see the
'Multi-provider' setting, enable it by clicking
the checkbox.
That's it!

Now look at Control Center > Connections menu.
Do you see 'Configure' in lower right?
If you don't see it, restart NinjaTrader.
This is how you know 'Multi-provider' has been enabled.
[I forget, a restart may or may not be necessary for the
setting to take effect -- but you'll only ever do these setup
steps one time anyways.]
[EDIT: Well, one time setup per NT8 installation. It's
not a setting stored in your NinjaTrader.com member
account, it's a desktop setting that has to be setup in
each NT8 desktop installation.]

Just to be clear, 'Multi-Provider' is not the same thing as 'Multi-Broker'.Originally posted by Lee63 View PostThank you, I have had multi for years and I did a reinstall and never realized that a different menu would come up. Thanks for the reminder! Now I know, just because it is listed in my ABOUT menu does not mean it is connected.
The 'Multi-Provider' option is a new concept with the NT 8.1 releases,
and is a setting in the desktop software. This option simply expands
the choices of connection types, and allows you to configure multiple
connections via the 'Configure' menu option.
The 'Multi-Broker Add-on' (and the M/B license key before it) is a paid
for feature that allows you to connect to multiple connection adapters
at the same time.
Just saying ...
