Importing Data - charts and Strategy Analyzer instructions

Hello,

I have Futures data gong back to 2008. I'd like to import it so I can run the strategy analyzer on code I've written to back test (Vs downloading data one day at a time type thing).


I have imported the data, that seems fine, I can see the actual data in the import window if I drill down, see the "Historical Data" window screenshot attached.

My issue is I have no idea how to use this data. I want to do two things

1) Use it for running the strategy analyzer against
2) Load it into the chart. I'd like to load it into the chart (I understand loading 17 years of data might hit a limit)


I have no idea how to to proceed, like should I connect to something, how do I select and use it for those purposes. I cant seem to find help in the forum or the help, nor on YouTube,

Thank you for posting.

You will not need to be connected when importing your historical data however to successfully import data the data and file must be in a specific format as referenced at the link below:

Hi Christopher, thanks for reply.

As you can see from my screenshot I have imported the data - thats what I am showing you on that screen. I just dont know how to use that data:
1) how do I select it for the charts?
2) how do I select it for the strategy analyzer.

I had read through that help page, which does not address this at all, which is why I posted.

Can you tell me the name of the .txt you are using when importing this data into NinjaTrader.
