    Rithmic Evaluation connection gives BadLogon error

    Howdy!

    I am attempting to connect to a Rithmic evaluation, and have setup the connection properly, but when I go to connect, I get:

    My Rithmic for NinjaTrader Brokerage: Unable to connect: (6):
    Raised in : com.omnesys.rapi.REngine
    Method : login
    Error : bad input (Logon failed)

    However, I do see that my connection information is ​saved correctly in the Config.xml:

    Just for clarity, the Username does go blank when I tab out of the field when setting up the connection, but the Config.xml seems to save the encrypted value anyway.
    (and the encrypted value listed above is not my actual username, for safety's sake).


    - I do have R|Trader Pro running and can see my evaluation account in it.
    - I have closed out of R|Trader Pro and NinjaTrader multiple times, starting R|Trader Pro first.
    - I have removed and recreated this connection multiple times
    - When I uncheck IsPasswordRequiredOnStartup, the Config.xml does have the encrypted value of my password saved. But that doesn't work either.
    - I have also tried scouring the internet for this issue, but I haven't found anyone with the same problem.

    The trace file looks like it's not using the Username when attempting to connect (notice on the user=''):

    Can anyone help me figure this out?

    Thank you for posting on the NinjaTrader forums.


    Generally recreating this connection would resolve it since the fields would just be empty but it looks like you've already tried resolving this.


    In this case, you can try to remove the 'Config.xml' file in the event that it somehow has become corrupted. Once you launch NinjaTrader again, a new Config file will be created and you can create your connection again.

      Thank you for getting back to me quickly! I appreciate the creative approach, but unfortunately it didn't do the trick, I get the same error.

      I took these steps:
      1. Closed NinjaTrader
      2. Renamed Config.XML to Config_OLD.xml
      3. Restarted NinjaTrader
      4. Confirmed that the new Config.xml was created and logged in
      5. Enabled Multi-Provider
      6. Restarted NinjaTrader and logged in
      7. Setup the Rithmic for NinjaTrader Brokerage connection again (the Username field still blanks, but still saves to the Config.xml just fine)
      8. Attempted to connect - same error - Bad Logon

      Got any other ideas? Or would the trace file help?

            UPDATE:

            I figured it out... but full disclosure - I'm running this on Linux via Wine (configured with Lutris). I just needed to use WineHQ Staging 9.13.
