Margin on MNQ used to be $100 and when volatile $400. Now it's $2560???? Same for MES, used to be $50, now it's $1650??

There is no major news scheduled and volatility is low 9:20 CET (3:20 ET).

What's going on?

Is this the policy of the new owner Kraken?

I was wondering what is going on. I thought its some kind of mistake. Most probably its due to high volatility after trump speech.

WHAT? According to the margin list, the new intrady margins seem to be. MES $1650 and ES $16,500

Yep thats the „standard” margin like IBKR broker has.
NT says that:

The NinjaTrader risk team evaluates market conditions in real time and reserves the right to adjust intraday margins in accordance with market volatility. If required, temporary changes to the amount of margin required for trading may be made without prior notification.

So its just temp(right?).

I can't believe this. I expected in increase, but not such a massive increase like this. I can't even place a trade until I front over $1000 more into my trading account. It's unacceptable.

OK, now the margin list shows $200 for MES and $2000 for ES. According to Ninja, a 4x margin increase has been applied due to high volatility.

Hi new to NT and need to know. Is the link in your post the "live" current margin rates? Having a difficult time locating this info. My current broker sends me a email notification of changes in margin requirements.
