If you have an open OCO order operation and close NinjaTrader, does everything work correctly?

I left a trade open overnight in the simulator and it hit the stop loss, but it did not cancel the partial exit orders which ended up executing later and left a short position that shouldn't have been there

Thank you for posting on the NinjaTrader.


OCO functionality will depend on the underlying connection. In this particular case, when using a NinjaTrader connection - an OCO order will not full cancel an existing order once one of the OCO legs has been touched by the market.

You will need to make sure that you have an active internet connection and that your PC is also on during this time.

Consider the scenario with a live account/connection. I make an entry with OCO order that was filled. Then I left the Stop Loss order and target order to see if at night the operation goes in my favor or goes to the stop. Can I close Ninja Trader and only reopen it the next morning? In this case, Does ATM strategy (OCO) work like the Ninja Trader was kept open?

The OCO will not work as intended, you need to have the platform open and connected to the internet in order for the other OCO leg to be cancelled.
