neither Risk nor Commissions settings stay as set

just discovered that on either sim or live accounts the risk settings aren't changeable as they don't persist after the window is closed. i attempted to set commissions to NTB-lifetime and risk to NTB-default click the ok button, the window closes, but when opened again they're both back to the nonsensical settings. risk is set to a blank at the top of the list and commissions is set to basic. Version 8.1.4.1 64-bit

    Hello stafe,

    Thank you for the message.

The Control Center > Tools > Risk window or Commissions window is NOT where you select your desired Risk Template or Commission Template.
    • This is comparable to a Dictionary of all of the available lists and their included definitions.
    • And, the Risk template without a name means it was create and never named. You could add a name to it if you want it to be saved with a name.

If you want to actually assign a commission or risk template to an account, that is done under the Control Center > Accounts tab
    • Go to the Control Center > Accounts tab > Right-click the desired account > Click Edit account... > Change the Risk and Commission template in this window as desired.
      • If this is a "Live" or "Demo" NinjaTrader or Tradovate-based account, then the "Commission" template will have no effect on the results other than in the Accounts tab of the control center.

Please click here for more information on working with the Risk Templates.
Click here for more information on the Commission Templates.

Please let us know if we may provide any further assistance.

        Hello stafe,

        Thank you for the message.

If you want to set the Position Limit on a Live or Demo NinjaTrader account, you would do so through the Tradovate Web Platform at this time.
If you are referring to an Evaluation account, then you need to reach out to that Evaluation Provider's support team directly for further insight on how to adjust the Risk with their accounts.

sorry, never heard of the "Tradovate" platform or account, what's that ? i'm on a NTBrokerage account with continuum feed... my initial question revolved around NinjaTraderBrokerage (NTB) commissions/risk

            Hello stafe,

            Thank you for the message.

If you don't have one it isn't relevant.

If you want more information, you are more than welcome to google, bing, or use your favorite search engine to look for more information.
            • I am not providing more information here as that is a new and unrelated question.

btw the "platform" "functionality" has changed "Risk" settings such as "Max Position Size" and "Max Order Size" no longer work in sim or live trading

since this is no longer a platform functionality issue - this would have been the better first response::::
