They wouldn't care about rhetorics like switching to TradingView or MultiCharts coz they know, if you can, you could have already moved.
Afterall, you've paid the license and once they've decided they no longer need to attract potential Windows users, they piss you off. This is understandable as you can feel the sourness when seeing the success of Robinhood....

Anyway, if they couldn't provide further supports, we can only ask for their kindness, such as, on making that connector code open source. That's how I see it...

Thanks for your sharing. Luckily, my experience is not that bad so far. I still believe they will soon publish a release that support ibgateway because of the following reasons:
    1. So many NT CS told us that such a release will come out in the past few months, and for long-term NT users who always send emails to NT in the past and seek for assistance, we should familiar with their name (like ChristopherJ) and I believe there is no reason for them to loss their trust with long-term NT user.
    2. As many of us mentioned in different posts, such an update should not be difficult. This is not something new, and NT always make proper release to support ibgateway in the past 10+ years.
    3. Since so many NT CS told us black and white in this forum that a release that support ibgateway will come out before 20250320 (although it is late, we can understand their development team may need more time to some final testing). However, if they really decide not to publish such a release at last, who will believe what they said anymore? Some users raise questions after NT was acquired by Karken, and the NT CS come out immediately and said there is no impact to our trading account and nothing will change, the customer funds are managed by NT Clearing but not Kraken etc..... Imagine if the NT CS don't honor what they said (not just one CS, but many of them), they can just change everything in the next day and said after careful evaluation, they have decide to do the reverse of what they said...

If you follow the instruction in the Youtube video linked below. You will be able to connect your remote server to more than one windows remote desktop connection at the same time. If you have 2 remote connection open at once, and open a program in one it will only open for that connection.

First Test that you can open 2 remote desktop connections at once maybe using Vmwhare for the 2nd if you don't have a spare computer. Or you could also test the 2nd on a Phone.

Once you know you can connect to 2 connections at once you can open a connection to the remote server on the remote server its self. And run every thing on the remote session opened within its self. If you do this Autohotkey should work even if you log out of the session linking the remote server to your local computer because it will still be connected to its self.

Thanks for your sharing. Yes, the key is to "not" exit the current session. I have some finding too. Instead of windows RDP, which will exit the current session when we close the apps, we can use remote software like Teamviewer and ChromeRDP to login the trading instance, and DIY some functions using Autohotkey or install some existing user activity simulator like MoveMouse. Since teamviewer/chromeRDP won't exit the current session if we close the apps, the user activity simulator will keep running all the day.

Although such setting can temporarily solve the connection between NT and TWS for user having similar constraint like me, it is not very smooth and is more memory demanding. Hope NT development team will hear what we request and publish the release that support ibgateway soon.

Please add my vote to have IBKR gateway support retained. TWS will not run on my machine without bringing everything to a snails pace.

Same here, we need NT to support gateway, that's what they agreed before.

In 03-13-2025, 11:49AM, NinjaTrader_ChristopherJ still claims "Correct TWS has been updated however Gateway is still being reviewed for an updated version however will be released prior to cutoff date."

In 03-14-2025, 11:40AM, NinjaTrader_StefanR said "after careful consideration, we have made the decision to no longer offer IB Gateway"

How come they can change their decision completely in less than 1 day? For user like us, our max loss is the time we invested in using NT and the license fee paid to them. But in case we are using NT brokerage and they said our fund is secure in day 1, will they suddenly let their user's fund be managed under their new buyer, the crypto player Karken in day 2 without any discussion with their users and let their users has no time to react such a changes, just like what they did on the ibgateway issue?

Hope the NT team can do what they agreed for by continue to support IB gateway, so we can believe what they said here in the future.

                Hi Stefan,

                Thanks for your update.

I have expressed the problem I encountered twice in previous posts but I didn't receive support from your team yet. I will copy and paste the content here again. Please don't ignore my question this time. Looking forward to receive your support.

The issue I am experiencing with TWS is:

To meet Compliance requirements, users with an IB-HK account will not be able to disable the TWS 30-minute session timeout.

Note: For IBHK API users, it is commended to use IB Gateway instead of TWS. It is because all IBHK users cannot choose “Never Lock Trader Workstation” in TWS – Global Configuration – Lock and Exit. If there is inactivity, TWS will be locked and there will be API disconnection.

TWS API Documentation | IBKR Campus US
Trader Workstation (TWS) API components are aimed at experienced professional developers willing to enhance the current TWS functionality.

As a HK user with IB and NT, I cannot disable the 30-minute session timeout when I use TWS with NT. I saw some users also expressed similar concern on this issue in other forum even they are not HK-user because IB simply put this restriction to all accounts opened under IBHK (but not IBLLC). The api connection will be lost once the TWS is locked. Please tell me how should I optimize my setup so I can have a smooth operation when use NT with TWS (but not ibgateway)?

I also need the Gateway to be supported... My VPS server memory is limited and I don't want to double my current server costs just because I have to use the TWS!!!
BYW: I noticed a couple of comments about switching to "Multi-charts"... BE VERY CAREFUL, as their system "Quote-Manager" is a nightmare AND although the support is responsive, my experience was frustrating many times (no solution)... Even though I have two "lifetime MC licenses, I went back to NT only to find this latest issue with the gateway...
Also, I tried "Tradestation" and they make it impossible to look at the status of your account unless you are in front of the PC that is running it... (switched and switched back in less that a month)
AND, I would steer-clear of "Wealth Lab" as it is unusable unless (maybe) your trading on day time-frames... Still seems very buggy...

                  >> I've been bouncing around from MC to NT for many years now hoping that MAYBE the updates would be useable... so far NT has gotten the closest...but still not confident enough to let things run without constant monitoring... Maybe one day...
