Strategies disappeared in Strategies tab after upgrading

Every time I upgraded from 8.1.3.1 to 8.1.4.1 or 8.1.4.1 to 8.1.4.2, I always got errors "Unable to compile custom assembly. Original version has been restored." after I restarted the NT. Then my custom strategies created in Strategies tab disappeared after restart. Even though I restored Config and UI files with those before upgrading, the Strategies tab is still blank. I wonder where (which files or folders) are those Strategies in the Strategies tab stored? how to recover them? Is there a way to export them and save them, and they can be imported later instead of creating again?

    Hello bxl2019,

    Thank you for posting.

This message indicates that there are NinjaScript errors on your platform that need to be resolved before you can import or edit any others. To begin resolving this, do the following:
    • Go to the Control Center > New > NinjaScript Editor
    • Right-click in the NinjaScript Editor > select 'Compile'
You should see some errors in orange appear at the bottom of the window. Expand this window so that as many of these error messages, if not all of them, are visible. Please attach a screenshot of these errors, and we will be able to send you the steps to resolve them.
To capture a screenshot I would recommend using Window's Snipping Tool.Alternatively to capture a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screen shot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CTRL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save as a jpeg file and attach the file to your reply.
The strategies are saved as a part of your workspace file found in Documents->NinjaTrader 8->workspaces folder however not all 3rd party indicators and strategies will be able to load until these compile errors have been resolved.

Once the compile errors are resolved you may test if you have any old versions of your Workspace available for recovery, do the following:
    • Go to the Control Center > Tools > Database Management window and expand the 'Restore Workspace' section
    • Click 'Restore', then select any recovery versions of your Workspace that may have been automatically saved with its windows still available.

      Thanks, Chris!
I followed your instructions for compiling, but did not see any error. All my custom scripts have been successfully compiled before.
Restore Workspace from previous ones did not recover any strategies created in the Strategies tab. This is really annoying. All charts and their indicators were recovered, but no strategies!

Because they are saved in the database and their IDs are stored in the workspace. When you open the workspace, NT looks for the corresponding strategy with that ID in the database and restores it for you. In your case, NT, for some reason, had problems with a custom assembly, and because of that removed your strategies.
