Auto Trail/Break even
Lets say my long entry on NQ is at 19600, so when price moves 7 points (not ticks), my stop loss should move to 7 points i.e 19607, if price moves further, the stop loss should move to next 7 points i.e. 19614, then it should keep on moving.Tags: None

Hello surya,
Thank you for posting.
Within the Auto Trail settings you would have to have the Stop loss at least 1 tick behind the traded price. If you would want this setup within your Auto Trail settings you would enter a Stop loss value of 1, Profit Trigger of 28 and a Frequency of 28. I have also included a link below to our Help Guide that goes over the Auto Trail feature.Let me know if I may be of further assistance.

My Goal: If price moves 28 ticks in my direction, I want to lock 28 ticks, and anything my auto trail gives, I want to take it.
Attached my ATM setting, that I have used.
Issue: When price moves in my direction, the SL is moving to 28 ticks but in next moment, the SL is moving back to top. It should not move to initial SL.
Please look at the GIF attachment (0324(2).gif). Closely watch the SL, how it moves from top to bottom and then to top and then again to bottom and locks the profit.Last edited by surya; 03-25-2025, 11:53 AM.

Hello surya,
Thank you for the update.
This is likely happening from incorrectly having the Auto Breakeven and Auto Trail both trigger at the same time.- Since you set both to have a Profit Trigger of 28 Ticks, once the market moves 28 ticks in your favor, both of them are trying to activate causing unexpected behaviors with your stop order.
- For Example:
- For Target 1, I want the initial stop loss to be placed 8Ticks from Entry and the Profit Target to be placed 20 Ticks from Entry.
- After 2 Ticks in my favor, I want the Stop Target to be pulled to be 4 Ticks below Entry price
- With every two additional ticks in my favor, I want the Stop loss to trail the current price by 4 ticks until it fills
- For Target 2,I want the initial stop loss to be placed 8Ticks from Entry and the Profit Target to be placed 30 Ticks from Entry.
- After 2 Ticks in my favor, I want the Stop Target to be pulled to be 4 Ticks below Entry price
- With every two additional ticks in my favor, I want the Stop loss to trail the current price by 4 ticks until it fills
- For Target 1, I want the initial stop loss to be placed 8Ticks from Entry and the Profit Target to be placed 20 Ticks from Entry.
We look forward to your response and resolving your inquiry.

Thank you for your quick response.
Let's say I'm trading 5NQ contracts
When I enter trade, I want my Initial SL to be 60 ticks
If price moves in my direction and reaches 30 ticks, I want the SL to move to 28 ticks from my entry for all 5 contracts
If price pull back, it will hit SL (as my SL is at 28 in above) with all 5 contracts
If price moves further in my direction, I want the auto trail keep moving. I want to lock every 8 ticks

Hello Suya,
Thank you for the update.
This is how you would set up the ATM Strategy you have described so far:
The way this would work is that once the ATM Strategy is Triggered:- It will place a Stop Target 60 Ticks away from the Entry Price. You didn't specify a Profit Target so I left that at 0 so that it is a runner. This means there will be no actual profit target.
- After 30 Ticks in your favor, the Auto Breakeven is hit pulling the Stop Target to be +28 ticks above breakeven.
- After 38 Ticks in your favor, the Profit Trigger of the Auto Trail is hit causing the Stop Target to be moved 8 ticks behind that location leaving the Stop Target at +30 Ticks from Entry.
- With every 8 additional ticks in your favor, the Stop Target will be moved to be 8 Ticks behind the current price. This would continue until the market turns around and hits the Stop Target.
Please let us know if we may provide any further assistance.

TRAIL STOP on NinjaScript Automated Strategy --- TrailStop after 10 ticks, why does it activate only with the body and not the shadow? By setting the parameter 10 ticks I thought it would activate at the first price movement of 10 ticks, instead I see that if a shadow is formed (for example the price has moved 10 ticks, but this movement of 10 ticks, for example, has formed a piece of a candle of 4 ticks and a shadow of 6 ticks) the TrailStop does not activate; it activates only if the 10 ticks form a candle body, that is, the shadow must not be included in the 10 ticks. I specify that I am testing my automated strategy in "Playback" mode. Shall I paste the code for you? THANK YOU. CORDIALLY.
