    Getting Strange message in the log file

    I'm getting this message in my NinjaTrader 8 Log file.I'ts looking for sound files for NinjaTrader 8 in the Program FIles x86 directory. NinjaTrader 8 doesn't have this directory. What could cause this?

    "Failed to play sound file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\NinjaTrader 8\sounds\Alert2.Wav': Please be sure a sound file exists at the specified location."

    Thank you for the message.

    Please follow the steps below to Repair the Installation of NinjaTrader and ensure the default files are in their appropriate location:
    • Close NinjaTrader
    • Go to the Windows Control Panel (NOT the Apps screen) > Programs and Features (Sometimes "Uninstall a program") > Click NinjaTrader > Click "Repair"
    • Click Next through the prompts until it is Finished and it is done
    Reopen NinjaTrader and test if the error message continues appearing.

    If you are still getting errors, please use the following steps to send your log and trace files to the support team directly from your NinjaTrader Platform so we may investigate this behavior further:
    • Within NinjaTrader, go to the Control Center > Help > Email Support...
    • To: Set this to "Platform Technical Support"
    • Subject: Copy and paste the Forum URL
    • Attach: Attach a file, picture, or compressed file to share multiple files/pictures
    • Body: Include any other information you would like to share on the situation
    • Make sure 'Log and Trace files' is checked to include the requested files
      • Send the email
    ​Please let us know if we may provide any further assistance.

      NT 8 has no Repair button. It only has an "Uninstall" button. NT 7 has a Modify button which then asks if I want to repair but not NT8. Click image for larger version

        This means you did not follow my previously provided steps as directed, as I can see you are in the "Apps and Features" screen that I specifically said NOT to use.
        • You have to go into the Windows Control Panel specifically > Then Programs and Features (Sometimes "Uninstall a program")

          Thank you for the clarification. I was succesful to repair NT 8. I then reloaded and found I still get the message. I followed the rest of the instructions and sent the log and trace files to "Platform Technical Support".

            were you able to fix it in the end?
            Most of my sound files have stopped playing on my various indicators although not ALL of the indicators. very odd.

            And I notice I get the same error as you in my log files on some of them to do with making sure the files are in the correct folder (which they are)

              If the only indicators not making sound are 3rd party add-ons, then you would want to reach out to those developers and ask them why this is happening and what needs to be done to resolve it moving forward.
