    Hello Irukandji,

    Thank you for the message.

This error appears when trading an instrument not defined within the current Risk Template. There are two solutions:
    1. Add the Instrument you are trading to the Risk Template
    2. Remove the Risk Template from your account

    1. To add the Instrument to the Risk Template:
    • Go to the Control Center > Tools > Risk
    • Click the Template you are using from the left > add the new instrument in with its desired settings > Click OK when finished
      • Now, it will let you place orders to that instrument
    2. Or, remove the Risk Template:
    • Go to the Control Center > Accounts tab > Right-click that specific account > Click Edit account
    • Switch the Risk Template to <None> > Click OK
      • Now, it will let you place orders to that instrument

Please let us know if we may provide any further assistance.

I haven't changed anything from last week or all of the weeks before that.

So what have you changed/broken on your end?

        Hello Irukandji,

        Thank you for the message.

It is possible this was a result of a backend Instrument update.

In the future, you would want to copy the Risk Template and then customize that one so that if there is ever another server side update to the default templates, it doesn't affect the values you have manually defined.

Please feel free to make the changes as previously directed to resolve the error message.

Please let us know if we may provide any further assistance.

I don't even know what a "risk template" is - what is it? and why should I be having to do this as the end user?

These are the instruments I trade -12 FX pairs. I haven't changed a thing.

              Hello Irukandji,

              Thank you for the update.

My apologies for the delay as I was not in the office yesterday.

By default, there is only One Risk setting in the platform with a default name.
              • If the risk values change, the development team is able to push a back-end update to make the template update with the new values.
              • If the user had defined custom values there, it would reset them back to default.

If you are still getting the error, perform the steps listed in my initial response on this forum thread.

Please let us know if we may provide any further assistance.

I still have no idea what a "One Risk Template" is or what it does...

                As for your suggestions:
                1. Add the Instrument you are trading to the Risk Template
                2. Remove the Risk Template from your account
Well which one do I need to do? (given that I do not understand either or what I am even doing)
