    There was a problem subscribing to data for the BTCUSD

    Hi again there,

    I wonder if you could offer any suggestions;

    I have signed up to the $12 super basic market prices....and I am trying to get a strategy working on BTCUSD...In my log it says;

    Do you have any suggestions as to why that might be?

    Thank you kindly for any ideas

    Hello HungryGhost,

    Thank you for the question.

    We have split your new question into a new forum post since the reason is not related to the prior post.

    The BTCUSD is a Cryptocurrency that comes for free through the "Coinbase" connection.

    While the historical data loads if connected to "NinjaTrader", it does not show real-time data or trade it from that account.
    • You would have to connect to "Coinbase" to get the Real-time data.

    If you haven't already, set up the connection to Coinbase:
    • Go to the Control Center > Connections > configure
    • Double-click the "Coinbase" connection type to add it in > Click OK
      • Now, go back to connections and click to connect

    If the behavior continues, you would want to force NinjaTrader to get the Real-time and Historical Cryptocurrency data from Coinbase:
    • Follow this guide - How to set Preferred Market Data Connections
      • Set both Historical and Real-time Cryptocurrency to "Coinbase"
      • Click OK
    • Restart NinjaTrader and reconnect to both connections and the BTCUSD will load in

    Please let us know if we may provide any further assistance.

      Thanks Clayton. I eventually found that out, thank you!

      I suspect Coinbase is having problems at the moment....my connection keeps dropping for some reason. Might have to try again tomorrow. However, I've just tried experimenting with the web based version and it looks like I can buy and sell there on my demo account. Does that make sense?

      You can see below I have already lost $900 or so

        Just an update on this. I believe the issue with coinbase was because I was a few versions behind on my install. Upgrading has resolved this issue. I'm happily on my way now.

        Thanks heaps for your efforts and help
