Gap in my chart

    Gap in my chart

    Today all my charts are missing data between 1045 and 1110. Reloading historical data does not help. Connecting to different data feeds (NT or Rythmic) does not help. What could be the cause and how to fix it?

    I disconnected all the data connections, connected to Rithmic only and all charts fixed themselves. Still, I would like to know what may have caused it so I can avoid in the future?

      Thank you for the update.

      We were made aware of some updates to the Instrument Servers today that caused some unwanted behaviors that will be resolved once the market is closed today.
      • However, this mainly only affected users who downloaded the platform fresh today.
      • If you had not updated or reset your Instruments or Database since yesterday, this could be pure coincidence and related to something else.

      Since the gap has since been filled, it is hard to say what else was causing it without having been able to do some more targeted testing.
      • The Historical Data comes from the same place for both a NinjaTrader and Rithmic connection, so that rules that out making the remaining few items hard to pinpoint without it still happening to test.

      So now that is is filled, great! If a gap like that ever returns, please write into the support team directly with screenshots and your log and trace files directly so that we can more look into everything more during the behavior to narrow in on a cause.
      • Within NinjaTrader, go to the Control Center > Help > Email Support...
      • To: Set this to "Platform Technical Support"
      • Subject: Copy and paste the Forum URL
      • Attach: Attach a file, picture, or compressed file to share multiple files/pictures
      • Body: Include any other information you would like to share on the situation
      • Make sure 'Log and Trace files' is checked to include the requested files
        • Send the email

        Thank you for the details.Since you mentioned that live and historical data come from different places, I think historical data did not fill where live data started. At that time I also received message that there was an instrument detected that will use delayed data. Therefore I suspect that historical data was not sent to me delayed, which is not correct since I am paying for data.

          Thank you for the update.

          If you saw a new message about "Delayed Data" this could mean that you have multiple connections and you had connected to them in a different order today.If you want the connection order to not matter and force the Historical or Real-time data to come from a specific connection once there are multiple, you may follow along with the guide below:
          This message can also appear when just some of the instruments in the workspace are not subscribed to data:​​​​​​​
