Currency on graphs in Analysis wrong

    Hi

I am in South Africa. My currency on my Windows computer is set to ZAR (South African Rand (R)). Somehow that is used in the graphs in the Strategy Analyzer Analysis tab - if Analysis ($) / currency is selected. The currency for the Y axis is correct. Surely the currency of the X axis should also be the currency of the instrument? Click image for larger version

    Hello verge,

    Thank you for the message.

Please make sure you are on the most current version of NinjaTrader 8.1.4.1.
    • Go to the Control Center > Help > About.
If you are not on this version, use the steps below to update your platform.
    • Login into your NinjaTrader Account Dashboard
    • Click "Download" in the bottom left-hand corner of the sidebar
    • Select "Download" in the "Most Recent Release" section
    • Once the installation is downloaded, ensure any previous version of NinjaTrader is closed before running the installation package.
After completing the installation, you can log into the platform using the same username and password as your NinjaTrader Account Dashboard.
    • Note: Updating NinjaTrader Desktop will not affect any custom configurations, workspaces, or add-ons.
    • A visual walkthrough of the update process may be found here in our Help Center.

If the currency is showing in something non-USD, it is most likey because of two things:
    1. The account has its currency type changed
    2. Or, the PC/Region's currency type is being applied to the values.

    1. Go to the NinjaTrader Control Center > Accounts tab > Right-click the account > Click Edit account > Check the Currency, Switch this to USD if it isn't already set to that > Click OK
    • Check if the values have been changed.
    • If not, try placing some new orders and testing if the new orders use the new currency format.

    2. If the behavior continues, go into your Windows and PC Region settings and switch the settings so that it uses a US Dollar format for any kind of prices on your PC.
    • If you are not sure how to change the Region and how Currency is displayed within Windows, you would need to reach out to a Windows or PC Technician for more specific steps.
    • Once the change has been made, restart NinjaTrader and reconnect to the account and check the account values again.

Please let us know if we may provide any further assistance.

      Hi Clayton

I have the latest version of NT

I checked the currency in NT as you suggested - it is set to USD - please see screen shot attached

I searched and found the currency setting in Windows. It was set to ZAR(R) and changed it to USD - and that fixed the MFE chart's X axis to USD.

I can therefore confirm that it is a bug in NT - although not serios. NT should not look at Windows for what the currency is - it should either look at the NT setting or the currency of the instrument that is being traded. NT is not using the windows currency setting for the Y axis - the P&L axis. Please log the bug
