    Simulator gross/net

    Hi -- I'm using the simulator to test. I have running Gross Realized PL of $53.75 and a Realized and Total PnLs of$.$11.99.

    Ok, there are costs.

    But when I go tho the Executions tab, all Commisions are $0.00. So where do I specifically analyze what is being deducted from the Gross PnL to calculate the Realized PnL if commissions are zero? There must be other costs -- where are they recorded? Where's the full accounting on the trades, etc?

    Thank you for posting on the NinjaTrader forums.


    You are able to get more granular information about your trades by running a report via the Trade Performance. This can be accessed by going to New > Trade Performance and you can filter out things like templates, accounts, etc.

      Thanks. Things aren't adding up. The PnLs listed in the Accouts tab (In trade performance) dont match the gross or net profits for the same account in the analysis tab for the same periods.

      This is all pretty confusing. I could not consider trading live money when I can't square one critical output with another.

      How can I reset my starting SIM balance so that I can track this on a trade-by-trade basis?

          It's this. I reset the balance in my dashboard, but the PnLs for some reason are not reset.

            Hello asd32,


            Perfect, let's rename your database to resolve this item using the following steps:
            • Shutdown NinjaTrader, and navigate to the Windows File Explorer (Windows Key + E)
            • Go to the Documents/NinjaTrader 8/db folder
            • Right-click on "NinjaTrader.sqlite" and rename it to "NinjaTrader OLD.sqlite"
            • When you restart NinjaTrader, a fresh database file will automatically be created by the software.
            • The following items stored in the old database will be removed - custom Trading Hours templates, custom Instruments/Instrument Lists, historical trade execution data, and saved Strategy Analyzer backtest results
