Hello Lbclotto ,
Thank you for reaching out.
Please note that this error occurs if the script itself that you are trying to import has issues or is missing components.
Have you contacted the vendor of your 3rd party add-on regarding this issue?
Please note that our troubleshooting with 3rd party add-ons is limited and we advise reaching out to the Developer as they will be expert on their piece of software.
What we can advise you do, is clean out your custom script folder entirely, and then try again. If it still gives that error, then the script itself is defective.
I recommend this procedure to only isolate this folder:
1. Close NT8
2. Go to your PC -> Documents -> NinjaTrader 8 -> bin
3. Select the "bin" folder and right click and select "Rename. (Rename). You may need to select "show more options" first.
4. Rename this folder to "OLDbin".
5. Repair the platform so that it creates a new folder.
To repair:- Go to your computer's Control Panel > Programs and Features (Note: look for 'Control Panel' to find it within the Windows Start Menu. This will be a different window than the Settings page.)
- Left-click once on NinjaTrader 8 > select 'Repair' above the list of available programs
- Restart the platform after it finishes repairing, and test this behavior again.
- Here is a video I made for your reference: https://www.screencast.com/t/5RH7MjuaQiG
6. Start NT8 and you should now be able to go to Tools -> Import and import any custom indicators you have available.
To re-import:- Download the NinjaScripts to your desktop, keep them in the compressed .zip file.
- From the Control Center window select the menu Tools > Import > NinjaScript Add-on...
- Select the downloaded .zip file
- NinjaTrader will then confirm if the import has been successful.
**Critical - Specifically for some NinjaScripts, it will prompt that you are running newer versions of @SMA, @EMA, etc. and ask if you want to replace, press 'No'
*If the same is still occurring after reinstalling I would recommend reaching out to the Developer to assist further. If the developer needs assistance they may reach out to our Engineering Support Team directly at [email protected]
Please let us know if you have any other questions.Erick P.NinjaTrader Customer Service
