    New computer

    Hi.
I will be getting a new PC tomorrow.
Because of unresolved/unresolveable issues I will want to install fresh versions of NinjaTrader and TWS and manually rebuild all my workspaces, templates, etc.
What do I need to know in order to do this (thinking about license especially).
After this is done, will I still have access to NinjaTrader on the old (well, the current) PC? (In case I forget something).

    Thanks.

    Hello M_ichel,

Thank you for posting on the NinjaTrader forums.

If you are using NinjaTrader 8.1+ (you can verify your version by going to Help > About) all you'll need to worry about are your credentials since you're not bringing over any workspaces/templates.

You'll still continue to have access to your previous files if necessary.

If you are still using NinjaTrader 8.0, the only other item to consider bringing over will be your license key. You can email yourself with your license key if needed to make it easier to copy and paste.

Please let us know if there's anything else we can assist with.

        Hi Luis.
Unfortunately, installing a new version of NinjaTrader and re-configuring it to my liking (after 10+ years of using it) is just going to be too complicated.

So. Please tell me if this would work:
        • On the new (virgin) computer:
          • Download and install TWS. (That should be straightforward as all settings are kept on IBKR's server).
          • Download and install NinjaTrader 8.1.4.1
          • Launch NinjaTrader and let it create a "NinjaTrader 8" folder
          • Copy the "/Documents/NinjaTrader 8" folder from the old PC to the new PC (and therefore replace the newly created NinjaTrader 8 folder that had just been created).
          • Re-launch NinjaTrader.
Would this preserve my current configuration (connections, workspaces, charts, templates, ChartTrader strategies, etc, etc.)?

        Thanks for your help.
