Ninjatrader disconnecting overnight.

I am connected to NinjaTrader Live, but overnight it seems to disconnect and does not reconnect. Can someone help me fix this? Version 8.1.4.1 (64-bit).

Thank you for posting on the NinjaTrader forums.


Barring a dropped connection from your internet service provider, this is not behavior that you can change. NinjaTrader will try to connect to the last known connection action again and will timeout if it is unable to establish this.


Similar to how a connection to your online banking eventually times out, your connection will do something similar.

Is this behavior related to login credentials expiring? I have this issue and it seems like I have to close NT and start/login again in order to resume connection and resume datafeeds.

More specifically, I wrote an addon that makes a BarsRequest. It tears down when connection is lost and rebuilds the request when connection is green again. After a connection loss late at night, the request is made when connection is reestablished but the event handler for the new barsRequest update event ceases to fire. At that point I have to restart NT.
