Issue with Gaps in NinjaTrader Charts Using Rithmic

    Dear support team,

I am experiencing an issue in NinjaTrader 8 when viewing charts with Rithmic data. When there is a gap between sessions, instead of leaving a blank space, the chart draws a long candle that covers the entire gap, connecting the previous session’s close with the new session’s open.

This issue occurs with all futures markets, not just 6E. As an example, I have attached a screenshot of the gap from the Monday, February 3rd, 6E open, where there should be an empty space but instead, a candle is drawn.

I have tried several solutions, including:
    • Setting Trading Hours to CME FX Futures RTH.
    • Enabling "Break at EOD" in the chart settings.
    • Changing the "Merge Policy" to "Do not merge".
    • Clearing the data cache (db\cache, db\minute, db\day) and reloading the data.
    • Testing different chart types (candlestick, tick, range).
    • Comparing with another data provider like Kinetick, where the gaps appear correctly.

Despite these attempts, the issue persists across all timeframes and all futures instruments. I would appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue so I can properly visualize gaps.

    Looking forward to your response.

    Best regards,

    Hello Gerald,

    Thank you for posting.

I have tested this on my end and cannot reproduce this behavior when connected to Rithmic for NinjaTrader Brokerage. Please right click in your chart->Data Series and tell me what Trading hours template you have selected.

      Hello,

Thank you very much for your response.

I am currently using the CME FX Futures ETH trading hours template, but I have also tested it with CME FX Futures RTH, and the issue persists. I have attached screenshots for reference.

Please let me know if there are any other settings I should check.

      Best regards,

Do you currently have a Heiken Ashi indicator applied to your chart? If so to verify if this indicator is filing in the gap can you please remove the indicator from your chart and verify the gap is visible.

I see, that was the issue. If I removed them I see the gap. The HA was filling the gap.

          Thank you!
