NT resubmit Mar****rder to IBKR-GW after IBKR executed order

Hello,
While the developers are working on supporting a newer version (minimum 10.30.1t), could you ask them to fix the API where

NT would resubmit a market order when it had already been received and executed by IBKR, and IBKR has acknowledge and executed the order?
The following is the scenario:
1. My NT strategy submit a market order to close a position to IBKR-GW
2. IBKR-GW received, acknowledged and executed the market order and then sent an acknowledgement back to NT
3. Instead of receiving the IBKR-GW acknowledgement and update the positions/accounts/order information, somehow NT misunderstood and thought that the submission didn't get executed and resubmit another market order, where IBKR-GW would then open a new position.

Thank you for reaching out.

Is this a constant issue you are facing? This would not be expected and I am not finding any official reports of a defect of this nature with the IBKR adapter.

First, please confirm are on a supported version of NT8 for this connection.

Also when using an Interactive Brokers account to connect to NinjaTrader, you must use the version of Trader Workstation or IB Gateway that is specified within the NinjaTrader — Interactive Brokers Connection Guide seen below:

  • TWS 10.33.1b - Download
  • IB Gateway 10.23.2a - Download
    • Please refer to the Connection Guide above for the Configuration settings of each
    • If you have another version of TWS or IB Gateway on the computer, I suggest uninstalling it first to remove confusion moving forward

Once you have the version of Trader Workstation or IB Gateway as specified above, connect to your account within TWS or IB Gateway.

• After you are connected in TWS or IB Gateway, you are then able to connect to the account within NinjaTrader.

From here connect to your account and test if the trades behave the same.

If the issues persist, please use the steps below to reset the instruments:

1. Disconnect from any data providers by navigating to the Control Center > Connections menu, and left-click on “disconnect” that appears to the right when hovering your mouse over any active connection
2. Reset your instruments by navigating to the Control Center > Tools > Database Management
3. In the Database Management window, under the “Update instruments” section, ensure that “General properties”, "Futures expiries" and “Symbol mappings” options are checked and then click Update
4. Restart NinjaTrader

If the issue still persists, it may have to do with the Strategy's order handling within NinjaTrader.

Is the automated strategy you are working with, a strategy coded by yourself using the Strategy Builder, or was it acquired from a 3rd party?

If it is your own coded strategy, please contact our engineering team at

and they will be able to guide you in debugging the strategy.

If it is a 3rd party strategy, you would want to contact the developer for assistance with their software.

Hi Erick,
I'm using IB Gateway 10.19.1 with NT 8.0.28.0. And I running our own coded strategy. And that we've tested it Live and it kept having the bug no matter how many times we restarted NT.
