ninja trader disapeared after clicking on install update

HI,

I got that little window notification new version is availble on startup. So i clicked on install update and it did something and now i dont see ninjatrader icon.

i still see ninjatrader8 folder in my documents but how do i start ninjatrader now?
i do search in search window for ninjatrder and its not comming up

had this log in TraceNT

Thank you for posting on the NinjaTrader forums.


Please make sure that you do not have two versions of NinjaTrader installed. You can verify this by going to 'Add or Remove Programs' and searching for 'NinjaTrader' as your query.


If you do have two versions of NinjaTrader, uninstall the older version (anything other than 8.1.4.1) and try to launch again.

thats a goog point but there is no one instance of ninjatrader in add remove programs. Interesting..

I just had the same thing happen to me. I wanted to install the update I was prompted to which resulted in having no NinjaTrader instance installed on my machine. I have some folders left in the documents.

How can I install NT now so all my settings aren't lost?

There are two different places where NinjaTrader is stored, one is the installation directory in the Program Files folder. The other is the User Directory which is in the Documents folder.


Removing the NinjaTrader program does not delete the Documents folder and so long as it is available the next installation of NinjaTrader will pull data* from that folder.


* Templates, Workspaces, etc etc.
