My Schwab connection seems to drop mid trading session. I re-enable it and a handful of hours later it will drop again. I would like to know a timeline to better position my strategies to run without interruptions due to this process of dropping authentication.

Does anyone know how long the authentication is valid for?

I have not seen other users writing in about this behavior yet which makes it sound like more of a local issue than a widespread one or something under NinjaTrader's control.
Please use the following steps to send your log and trace files to the support team directly from your NinjaTrader Platform so we may investigate this behavior further:- Within NinjaTrader, go to the Control Center > Help > Email Support...
- To: Set this to "Platform Technical Support"
- Subject: Copy and paste the Forum URL
- Attach: Attach a file, picture, or compressed file to share multiple files/pictures
- Body: Include any other information you would like to share on the situation
- Make sure 'Log and Trace files' is checked to include the requested files
- Send the email

They are aware and there is a ticket in on the dropped connections with Scwab as part of ticket Re: Case: #05879356 that Erick is currently working on, in conjunction with charts being slow to load and dropped connections to Schwab without any warning to the user. I advise NT users to be cautious while day trading until they get this squared away, in a different thread I started re the Schwab slow loading charts.

If any one is experiencing this behavior, please reach out to the support team with the Log and Trace files directly so we may help investigate things further.- Since this is a newer connection adapter, it could be related to that. But, it could also be coincidental timing and have nothing to do with that and be something in the PC, Network, or server path.
While it may not be evident, connection loss issues can happen for a variety of reasons and very few of them come from NinjaTrader.- It is even possible to have a great connection with one broker/connection while you cannot connect to another broker's servers at all.
The NinjaTrader platform sends a signal with the Credentials in it, from there it is up to the PC, Network, Pathway to the necessary servers, and final servers to maintain a stable connection.
If you aren't changing of the connection settings within NinjaTrader before the connection loss happens, then it normally means it is coming from something further up the chain:- Imagine you were watering the flowers with a hose and it randomly stops spraying. If you verify the nozzle isn't broken, this normally implies there is a kink in the line further up the hose causing it to slow or stop. Once you remove the kink, the water flows again.
- So, if the connection settings were working and connected within NinjaTrader and nothing changed there, it would normally imply it is further up the signal path.
So again, if someone is experiencing connection loss issues, it would be best to reach out to our support team directly with the requested files so we can take a look into your specific situation and provide specific steps that apply to you.- Within NinjaTrader, go to the Control Center > Help > Email Support...
