At 9:23 today schwab dropped And laggy connection

    Hello,
Connection to Schwab dropped and laggy as stated in title. Getting a re connection error message then connects 2 mins. later at 9:25. Been testing this latest iteration of Schwab data connection and noticing charts are always very lagged. Takes a minimum of 5 secs. for a chart to come up, with a max. time of 15 secs. to come up, when switching between charts in a watch list.
I can foresee this will be a problem when day trading/scalping off a 1 min. chart with more than a few tickers in a watch list. I'm using a 1Gb fiber line and never experienced this with TDA.

Addendum: It's now 9:35 and I'm showing a green ball schwab connection but receiving no data whatsoever...

      Hello bortz,

      Thank you for reaching out.

The Schwab connection is in Beta but the behavior you are experiencing has not been reported.

To troubleshoot, first try resetting your instruments to resolve this item. To reset your instruments, please take these steps:
      1. Disconnect from any data providers by navigating to the Control Center > Connections menu, and left-click on “disconnect” that appears to the right when hovering your mouse over any active connection
      2. Reset your instruments by navigating to the Control Center > Tools > Database Management
      3. In the Database Management window, under the “Update instruments” section, ensure that “General properties”, "Futures expiries" and “Symbol mappings”, then click Update
      4. Restart NinjaTrader

If this does not resolve it:

In this case, we will have to determine the configuration of the chart as well as the data source you are using.

      First, disconnect all active connections.

-Go to Connections -> and disconnect all green connections.

      Next, open a new workspace.

-Go to Workspaces -> new -> and create a blank workspace.

Now please create the following graph to use for testing. This removes many variables to ensure that nothing prevents the chart from working as expected:
      • Go to Control Center > New > Chart.
      • Select Your Active Stock Symbol
      • Make a 1 minute chart
      • Set the 'Days to load' to 5
      • Make sure the 'Template' in the upper right corner is set to "< None >".
      • Set the Timeframe > Trading Hours > To "use instrument settings".
      • Click OK to create the chart
      • Now connect only to your broker/live data feed.
      • Does the chart load as expected?
        • Is the historical data displayed and is there real time data?
        • If you open the Chart Trader panel, does it show values for Ask and Bid quotes or just 0's?
          • If this chart has loaded and works as expected, how does it differ from the other chart?

If the test chart has not loaded:

Please send in your log and trace files so that we may look more into what may be occurring.

You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support

Make sure to categorize your request at the top.

Ensure 'Log and Trace Files' is checked will include these files. This is checked by default.

If you could also provide a screenshot of what you are seeing, that would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance, we look forward to helping resolve this issue for you.

update- restarting the program and reconnecting to schwab resolved the no actual connection while showing there is a connection issue but not the lag problem of there being a minimum of 5 secs. lag between displaying chart data while switching between charts. I reset my instruments data as per your instructions anyway, to see if that would help with the lag problem but to no avail.
On one chart I'm trying to display, I get the following error- Error on requesting bar series: Unexpected character encountered while parsing value: <. Path ".line 0, position 0." (with OK button at bottom of message box text). I'll keep you posted of future anomalies as they arise. We'll see how this acts when I try it again near market open onward tomorrow. Thanks.
        Regards,
        Frank

            Hello bortz,

            Thank you for your message.

Regarding the IBKR issues you are experiencing, this usually stems from version variables.

when using an Interactive Brokers account to connect to NinjaTrader, you must use the version of Trader Workstation or IB Gateway that is specified within the NinjaTrader — Interactive Brokers Connection Guide seen below:

Once you have the version of Trader Workstation or IB Gateway as specified above, connect to your account within TWS or IB Gateway.
            • After you are connected in TWS or IB Gateway, you are then able to connect to the account within NinjaTrader.

From here connect to your account and test if the charts are updating, your trades should also be reflected on both platforms.
            • If they are still not updating, Please send in your log and trace files so that we may look more into what may be occurring.

You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support

Make sure to categorize your request at the top.

Ensure 'Log and Trace Files' is checked will include these files. This is checked by default.
Please let us know if we may provide any further assistance.

              Hi Erick,
Uninstalled TWS (it was the beta version of TWS with auto-update feature turned on). Did clean install of the version you said to install. Both problems still happening.- laggy charts and trader performance not showing today's trade. It's interesting NT is showing when I opened the trade this morning but not when I closed it and trader performance shows no record of anything today. I'll be sending those log and trace files. I was so hoping I wouldn't have to go through this debug process with someone again just like the last times I've had problems that nobody else has. Actually, I'm surprised you put out a beta version of the API connection. I've been waiting for this API connection with Schwab for a year now and was hoping for a stable release as soon as it dropped.
              Regards,
              Frank

                Hello,
It's 8:19am EST and although I was able to connect to Schwab yesterday, it won't connect at all this morning. It also asked me to go thru the set up of the connection process all over again (I was just connected yesterday), so I did, clicked on the apply button to finish the connection set up and still no data feed, even though the green ball in the control window is showing I'm connected.
                Regards,
                Frank
