If I'm already using NT, why would I choose Rithmic over Tradovate, given that NT owns Tradovate? What is the difference between Tradovate and Rithmic accounts?

Hello Kpuctel
Thank you for reaching out.
Thank you for your question! Here’s a breakdown of why you might choose Rithmic over Tradovate while using NinjaTrader, and the primary differences between Rithmic and Tradovate accounts: Why Choose Rithmic Over Tradovate?- Compatibility & Platform Usage:
Rithmic offers greater flexibility when connecting with other trading platforms outside of NinjaTrader. If you plan to use multiple platforms, Rithmic is a solid choice. - Customization Options:
Rithmic's API allows for custom integrations, which might be valuable for advanced traders who want to build or integrate their tools into their workflow.
Differences Between Rithmic and Tradovate Accounts- Ownership:
Tradovate is owned by NinjaTrader, offering a streamlined experience within the NinjaTrader ecosystem. Rithmic operates independently, with broader multi-platform support. - Data Handling:
- Tradovate: Focuses on ease of use and offers a simplified approach to trading. Data feeds are adequate for most users but may not have the tick-level granularity or ultra-low latency of Rithmic.
- Rithmic: Provides tick-by-tick data with ultra-low latency, catering to professional traders who need the highest precision.
- Pricing Models:
- Tradovate: Often bundled or integrated into NinjaTrader accounts with straightforward pricing. Subscription-based pricing is typical for seamless integration.
- Rithmic: Data feeds might incur additional costs and require separate subscriptions.
- Order Management:
- Tradovate: Simplifies the trading process with cloud-based systems. However, execution might not be as fast as Rithmic in high-volatility situations.
- Rithmic: Server-side OCO and risk management provide superior reliability during fast-moving markets.
- User Experience:
- Tradovate: Geared toward ease of use with a modern, user-friendly interface.
- Rithmic: Requires more setup knowledge, but offers professional-grade tools and functionality.
Your choice depends on your trading style, needs for execution speed, and budget. If you’re focusing on precision, speed, and multi-platform compatibility, Rithmic is a better fit. If you prefer a streamlined experience within the NinjaTrader ecosystem, Tradovate may suffice.
Let me know if you'd like further clarification!
