    Workspace files are messed up.

Some workspaces I can delete. Some I can't.
When I can't, I get the error message:
Click image for larger version Name:	Clipboard Image.jpg Views:	0 Size:	16.0 KB ID:	1331586
From looking at the file access dates, it appears that some of my workspaces are being accessed from the workspaces folder, and some, often with the same name, are being accessed the same day from the recovery folder; otherwise, the application seems to be working fine.

      Thanks, Christopher.
The bigger issue is why am I accessing files from both the recovery folder and the workspace folder? I want to access everything from the workspace folder.

To clarify are you still receiving this error after following the steps provided to remove NinjaTrader from being backed up by OneDrive and reinstalling NinjaTrader?

Thanks, Christopher, for getting back to me.

Maybe, I was mistaken, but I didn't think that the article was germane to my situation:
"This article provides an overview of how to resolve an error with OneDrive that can appear while importing a NinjaScript add-on to the NinjaTrader Desktop app." I don't have any problem importing add-ons.
Now, that I'm reading on, I see that my error message is similar to one of the two given later on in the article:
"Unhandled exception: Access to the path 'C:\Users\OneDrive\Documents\NinjaTrader 8\etc' is denied."

If at all possible, I would like not to have to re-install NT. Every time I do, I create new issues.
I receive no error message and have no problem opening and closing my workspaces or templates or creating new ones. The problem is only with deleting workspaces.
NT has created a subfolder under the workspaces folder, titled "recovery" and frequently copies my workspaces into that folder without my intervention. When I try to delete a workspace from the workspaces folder, NT tries to delete it from the recovery folder and tells me that I don't have access to it. If it would solve the problem, I would be fine with getting rid of the recovery folder--Acronis backs up NT every night.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

While OneDrive is accessing that folder (by backing up files), you cannot delete
the files currently being backed up.

NinjaTrader folks consider OneDrive a foul beast, courtesy of the 800 lb gorilla
              known as Microsoft.

Until NinjaTrader learns how to tame this beast internally (and work with it instead of
ignoring it) you are the one being forced to disentangle the two from interacting.

              More research here.

              Main takeaway:
Life would be much easier if NT installer allowed you to choose a data folder
somewhere other than under your Documents folder (which is typically under
total control of OneDrive by default). Seems like a simple feature to allow,
but NT mgmt has resisted doing this, despite the clear benefit of avoiding
errors from NinjaTrader.exe actions interacting with OneDrive.

              Bummer.

Unfortunately there is not an option to remove the recovery folder however you can disable duplicates of the workspace .xml files from being stored in recovery going forward by going to Tools->Options->Set a value of 0 for Versions of recovery workspaces then click Ok.
