    Breakeven Hotkey Not Working

    Can someone help me troubleshoot why my breakeven hotkey isn't working? The other hotkeys work in live trading. The BE hotkey has been programmed in the same way as the others. The platform accepts it and doesn't indicate a conflict. It worked in SIM. THe combo is CTRL+9(numpad).

    What could be going on??

    Please click on Tools > Options > Trading, and ensure the "Use order entry hot keys" checkbox has been enabled. As long as this is disabled, all order entry hot keys are ignored.

    If you have confirmed that "Use order entry hotkeys" is enabled, here are a few possible reasons and troubleshooting steps to consider:
    1. Compatibility with Chart/Order Window:
      • Ensure the live trading chart or order entry window is active and selected when pressing the hotkey. Hotkeys only function on the currently active window.
    2. Hotkey Conflict:
      • Confirm there isn’t another active program or NinjaTrader function using the same hotkey combination (CTRL + 9 (numpad)). You can check this by navigating to:
        • Control Center > Tools > Hotkeys > Order Entry.
        • Look for any conflicts or double bindings.
    3. Global Hotkey Setting:
      • Ensure that the hotkey is set up as a global hotkey (if intended). This allows the hotkey to work even if another window is in focus.
    4. Log and Trace Analysis:
      • Check the Log tab in the Control Center for any error messages when attempting to use the hotkey. If there is an error, share the details to assist further.
      • Provide your log and trace files to investigate further:
        • You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support
          -Make sure to categorize your request at the top.
          -Ensure 'Log and Trace Files' is checked will include these files. This is checked by default.
          -If you could also provide a screenshot of what you are seeing, that would be appreciated.​

    If the issue persists, please share screenshots of your Hotkey Settings under Tools > Hotkeys > Order Entry and any relevant error messages or behavior observed in the Control Center. I look forward to assisting you further!

      Thank you for the reply. I checklisted each of the items, and all of my settings and actions correct. Everything is set up as it should be.

      I just tested a breakeven for 1 contract of MES. The live position was $8.00 in the money, and I attempted to set a breakeven. Nothing happened at all.

      I did use the log tab to see if the keystrokes are detected. I did this test with no open position.The log shows that it sees the hotkey being called by showing the message "Hot Key Breakeven Position Chart - Position does not exist." So, it seems as though the platform DOES see the hotkey.

      So that brings me back to square 1. The platform is seeing the hotkey (at least during the no-live-positon test), yet does not place a breakeven for the live order. This worked in SIM a couple of days ago with no issue.

      No idea.

        Thank you for your follow up.

        Can you go to Tools -> and make sure that Global Simulation mode is unchecked?


        Also, please send in your log and trace files so that we may look more into what may be occurring.

        You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support

        Make sure to categorize your request at the top.

        Ensure 'Log and Trace Files' is checked will include these files. This is checked by default.

            If you do not see this option, you would need to enable the "Multi-provider" setting from the Tools > Options window first.

              I'm unable to email you. I get an error indicating that the number of outgoing messages has been exceeded.
