Re install but keep workspaces and indicators?

Hi
is it possible to reinstall NT8 but keep the workspaces and indicators i have currently?

my laptop crashed with NT open and now it opens with the workspace but is frozen

Hello NISNOS69,

Thank you for the message.

You could do a fresh installation of NinjaTrader without ANY of the prior files. Make sure NinjaTrader works. Then, reimport major folders back in 1-by-1 and reopen NinjaTrader until it stops working again to find the culprit.

To completely uninstall and reinstall NinjaTrader.

• Close all running applications.
• Navigate to your Documents folder > Right-click on the 'NinjaTrader 8' folder > Rename > rename the folder to 'NinjaTrader 8 OLD'. DO NOT delete this folder.
• Uninstall NinjaTrader within Windows Control Panel.
• Navigate to C:\ > Program File (x86) > Delete the 'NinjaTrader 8' folder if it exists
• Reboot your PC.
• Once these steps are completed, please log in to your dashboard and download and install NT8:
  • https://account.ninjatrader.com/welcome

Now, to manually move the major folders and files back in and test between each:

• Close NinjaTrader
• Go to the Documents > NinjaTrader 8 Old > Copy the Config file
  • Go to the Documents > NinjaTrader 8 > Paste the file here in the same location
• Reopen NinjaTrader and test.
• Do the same steps again for the following files and folders in the order listed below:
  • UI file
  • templates Folder
  • workspaces Folder
  • bin Folder

If the platform stops working again after bringing a folder in, then you know the unwanted behavior is saved within one of the files in there and you would want to close NinjaTrader and pull that folder back out. Then reopen the platform and NinjaTrader will make a new folder.

• If the Workspaces are corrupted, you might have to remake them from scratch.
