Moving Average value different to the chart it's applied to

Is it possible to apply a daily moving average to the 1 minute chart for example? I can do this with TradingView but can't see how to do it with NT

Thank you for using NinjaTrader.


You can have more than one data series attached to a chart, then use that secondary data series to as your input series for your indicator.



Technically this would work however you might run into an issue where the line won't be visible on the 1 minute panel as this can create a mismatch since the indicator's input series does not align with the bar spacing of the 1-minute data.

Thanks. But if I add another data series it splits my chart in 2 panes, one for each data series. I just want 1 chart in the window(the 1 minute chart) and apply the 1 day moving average over it. Can I add a data series and it not be visible on the main chart window?

I think you might have noticed this in the interim but, you can actually grab the horizontal line that splits both data series and drag it down to completely hide the second panel.
