    Error when connecting to my second AMP broker account

    Hello,

    I have a lifetime NT multi-broker license, the grandfather one.

    I have had a personal broker account for many years with AMP, using CQG as the data provider.

    I recently opened a second broker account for my company with AMP, and I selected the "CQG no data - order routing only" connection because I already have market data via my personal CQG account.

    When I try to connect this new account to NT8, I get an error: "Provider 'CQG' already has a running..." See the attached screenshot.

    I don’t understand why, with a lifetime NT multi-broker license, I cannot connect two different accounts at AMP broker.

    Can you help me?

    Thank you for posting on the NinjaTrader forums.


    It is expected for you to see this error message despite having a Lifetime license since you are requesting two different connections through CQG. Could these be possibly consolidated under one single username with your broker?

    My thought process is that you'd then be able to use the same connection within NinjaTrader and it gives you access to both accounts.

      However, I bought the most expensive license and I don't understand why I can't connect to 2 different accounts with the same broker.

      So it's not possible to connect to 2 different accounts with the same broker?

      A personal account and an account for my company?

      For me, it's not called a multi-broker license!​

        "Multi-broker" implies there are connections to more than one broker, this does not mean that you can use more than one account using the same broker. Same thing happens if you have multiple Rithmic based accounts, you'll see a similar error message.


        This does mean however, that you can connect to a CQG connection plus an Interactive Brokers connection plus a Forex connection all at the same time.

          And what is the solution ?

          Because this is maybe the same broker, but not the same account, not the same User Name, not the same Passeword...

              you talk about Rithmic connection, it is possible with AMP Broker to have a order routing via Rithmic.

              May be i can use my personal account via CQG and my company account via Rithmic, however, i cannot see this choice when i try to configure the connection on NT7 or NT8.

              Can you help ?

                If I was in your shoes I'd reach out to AMP to see if you can merge both accounts into the same username as suggested.
