    Support for Windows Server 2025

Windows Server 2025 was announced on November 1, 2024. Has there been, or is there, a timetable for when NT will be functionally tested and running on WS 2025? I'm currently running Windows Server 2022, but I need to know that Ninjatrader has been tested under WS 2025 before I consider upgrading the operating system.

    Hello SilverSurfer1,

    Thank you for the message.

Within the Recommended PC Specifications, it lists, "Windows Server 2016 or later 64-bit"
Unfortunately, I am unable to find any information about having tested with Windows Server 2025 specifically yet. I am reaching out to the Development team for more clarification.

Until then, you are already using Windows Server 2022 which is higher than the listed Server 2016 so from that wording it sounds like it would work.
    • At the same time, it never hurts to let a new operating system come out and let it go through a few months worth of patches and updates before adopting.

You are welcome to try upgrading and if something isn't working as expected, downgrade Windows back to Sever 2022 where things were working.
    • Although, I know this would also be a lot of work depending on the setup. So, you are welcome to try if you want, I'd recommend backing up anything important first. (That goes for any major Windows/OS update though.)
    • If something unwanted did happen, please reach out and let us know so we could help investigate further and document if we find that it is coming from NinjaTrader.

I will be following up with more information once I have it.

Thank you for your patience as we investigate this further.

Thanks for the update. If I don't see any forum-reported problems with NT running under WS 2025, I'll plan a long-term migration, maybe for the first quarter of 2026.

        Hello SilverSurfer1,

        Thank you for the update.

I also wanted to update you from our side.

From initial responses, since the platform works on Windows Server 2022, we would expect it to work on Windows Server 2025 as well.

Once the development team has actually been able to test this, we will respond to confirm. (Unfortunately, I do not have a timeline on when that testing will be completed)

If you decide to go for the update and find something happening, please use the following steps to send your log and trace files to the support team directly from your NinjaTrader Platform so we may investigate the behavior further:
        • Within NinjaTrader, go to the Control Center > Help > Email Support...
        • To: Set this to "Platform Technical Support"
        • Subject: Copy and paste the Forum URL
        • Attach: Attach a file, picture, or compressed file to share multiple files/pictures
        • Body: Include any other information you would like to share on the situation
        • Make sure 'Log and Trace files' is checked to include the requested files
          • Send the email

Thank you for your patience as we investigate further!
