Strategy Analyzer parameters revert to defaults in 8.1.4.1

Hi, I installed the new NinjaTrader 8.1.4.1. When I run Strategy Analyzer and load a template, the parameters load fine. However, after clicking Run and Strategy Analyzer finishes the Backtest, several parameters suddenly revert back to the defaults, including listboxes in the Settings section and Trading Hours in the Timeframe section.

This makes 8.1.4.1 unusable since I have to load the templates every single time I want to run a Backtest, because those parameters are lost every time after Strategy Analyzer finishes running the Backtest.

I gave this a test using 8.1.4.1 and the SampleMACrossover included with NinjaTrader and I was not able to reproduce.

May I confirm you are able to reproduce using the SampleMACrossover?


If so, please try creating a clean installation environment to confirm a script is not causing the behavior.

To create a clean temporary NinjaTrader folder:

1. Shutdown NinjaTrader
2. Rename (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 8\ to (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 8.original\
3. Download the NinjaTrader installation package from the link below
   1. NinjaTrader - Download
4. Run the repair from this (if the repair is unsuccessful, uninstall and then re-install NinjaTrader)

With the clean installation environment are you able to reproduce?

Yes, I can reproduce the problem with SampleMACrossover. I mentioned that the problem is with the LISTBOXES, which you did not try in your video. Can you please try again and change the Instrument to "MES MAR25" and change the Trading Hours to "US Equities RTH". After you click Run, those values will revert back to the defaults after the backtest is finished.

The Instrument selector is the combo-box style (you are referring to as list box) I tested in the video.
I found the instrument did not change.

Testing the Trading Hours I am seeing this revert back and I will report to our development.

Note also that the Value property under the Data Series category also reverts. However, it doesn't appear to do it after every optimization run, but only if the custom project is changed and recompiled. While this may be a related but different issue, this did not happen in previous versions. The above issue is more important, but if this is an easy fix at the same time it might be good if development was aware of it.
